Catherine Vanderzwan is a Senior Account Manager at the Business Development Bank of Canada. BDC is the only bank devoted exclusively to entrepreneurs. Catherine attended UWO in London Ontario earning her BA in History and Politics; and University of Windsor for an Honours BCOMM, majoring in Finance and Marketing. Following work in Toronto as a business analyst, she relocated to Western Canada where she worked in publishing, finance, and telecomm. Through her career, she has gained varied experience as an analyst, financial planner, and sales manager at companies including Scotiabank, Sony, McGraw-Hill, and Bell. Catherine, her husband Jason, and their two children, relocated to Ottawa in 2007. In 2011 she joined BDC and has been an active member of the business community here ever since.
Catherine has over 15 years of corporate financing and advisory experience. She is an advocate for innovation and collaboration. She is a proud champion of BDC’s women entrepreneur strategy; BDC has dedicated $1.4 billion over 3 years in lending to majority women-owned companies.
